Marine Toys For Tots Foundation About Toys for Tots

 

The Whatcom County Toys for Tots started in the early 2000's and had worked with the Skagit County Marine Corps League post 1042.  Toys and donations came from the Marine Corp League and Local Donations and Box drops. This was ran by local Marines and voluteers.

In 2005, Whatcom County Toys for Tots was coordinated by Gysgt's Art Anderson and Vince McLeod applied for  Local Community Organization(LCO) status with the Toys For Tots Foundation.  This would allow Whatcom County to receive national donations and sponsorship.

In 2006, Whatcom County thanks to generous donations, great volunteers, and supporters the Whatcom County Local Community Organization(LCO) was voted LCO of the year  for Region 4.

Since then, the Whatcom County Toys for Tots has helped thousands of families and organizations throughout the area.

Today, Whatcom County Toys for Tots is coordinated by Mac McMaster, Captain, USMC (ret) and several other former Marines to include the Whatcom County Marine Corps League detactment 1335.

The US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is the oldest and most sucessful non-profit toy donation program in the world.
